The SNP Scrapped Tuition Fees For Students

The Myth:: The SNP scrapped tuition fees for Scottish students.

The Truth:: Tuition fees were actually scrapped by Labour in August 2000.

All the SNP scrapped was the Graduate Endowment Fee. Only a small number of students actually paid this fee. It was not a universal charge on all students.

The money raised from those fees was used to provide bursaries for poorer students.
