The Truth:: No, we don't. Deep cuts elsewhere pay for them

We do not have free prescriptions at all.

The money to pay for that is slashed out of the NHS Scotland budget, meaning beds are scrapped, wards are closed, and whole hospitals are shut.

Lets look deeper.

Old system: The poor didn't pay, those who could, did.
New system: The poor still don't pay, those who can, don't.

Now lets look at stuff that can be bought over the counter for as little as 20p. Last year, we spent £10m on over the counter meds, and £57m on paracetamol alone since the scheme started. Each script costs £13.45 in admin to issue, and we're spending that for stuff that can be bought over the counter for 20p

We have vital cancer drugs that cannot be given in Scotland because of cost. Cancer patients are dying so people can have free paracetamol. plasters, sun cream, etc, all of which are available over the counter quite cheaply.
